After 2.5 days at Asian Hospital and Medical Center at exactly 3PM we opted to transfer to the National Kidney and Transplant Institute as my Tita said that a certain neuro surgeon will be there to assisst us.
I also had most of my “dalaw” at NKTI and I would like to take this oppurtunity to thank everybody who made “dalaw” and see me before the operation. I would like to thank Mike, Teng, Ester, Maki, Bart, and Jade. Again, Thank you for your prayers and support. To those of you who are not mentioned, I’ll edit this post once I remember everybody who visited me at NKTI.
Riding the Lifeline Arrows Ambulance
So we hired an ambulance from Lifeline Arrows to get me transferred as I am still not suitable for being transported on a regular manner because I might have one of those episodes again. The transfer went smoothly but it was pricey.
The Arrival at NKTI
We finally arrived at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, as a hospital policy I was wheel chaired to the emergency room while waiting for my room to be prepared.
The Emergency Room
Coming from a luxiorius hospital, the emergency room at NKTI is nothing compared to the ones at Asian Hospital. The bed looks old, It smells like a hospital, The hallway is crowded and you have to wait for an hour before you get a service.
The Private Room
A couple of hours later, my room was ready and it’s a bit smaller than what I had before and the bed is not the same as with Asian Hostpital which had the automatic adjusting thing, again from what I’m seeing on the TV series house.

Dr. Rafael and the Neurosurgeons
Dr. Rafael was my neurosurgeon and he was willing to give me an operation but I had to wait for a week because he was leaving for an out of the country trip. So we had to look for a different neurosurgeon so I can have my brain surgery immediately.
A few phone calls later, It looks like every neurosurgeon in the country is leaving for a vacation trip or maybe a conference. Given the fact that there are only a few neurosurgeons in the country, we had to carefully choose the best doctor and the best hospital facilities the Philippines can offer.
After 2 days of looking for a doctor we finally chose Dr. Casis, A resident Neurosurgeon of St. Lukes Medical Center QC.
To be continued…
