HTC One X Set To Launch in The Philippines

I’m an HTC user and this new phone will definitely be part of my to-buy list.

A view of the HTC One XHTC will launch its latest set of phones on the 1st week of April 2012. Knowing the coming of holy week, I think the launch will be moved on the second week of April instead, unless they plan to have a product launch on the beach which is not a bad idea as there are a lot of people who would go to the beach and parties will surely be held. HTC will launch the HTC One X and the HTC One V models only as the HTC One XL is using LTE and as you know our local carriers don’t support LTE just yet.

And for me, it is okay, because One X will be using a Quad-core CPU and the One XL will still be using a dual-core CPU.

Here are the specs of HTC One X from HTC:

Size: 134.36 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm
Weight: 130 grams with battery
Display: HD 720p touch
Screen: 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 resolution)

CPU: 1.5 Quad-core
Platform: Android™ 4.0 with HTC Sense™ 4
Storage: 32GB (26GB available to user)
RAM: 1GB
Sound Enhancement: Beats Audio™

Meanwhile, here’s a video from the manufacturer:

I’m really excited about this smartphone and I hope that my carrier will offer it.

Nokia N8 Using Andriod OS

Yes, It could have been nice if the new Nokia N8 uses the Google Android OS but it’s not.

A lot of the web apps that we see are only available on either the iOS or Android. So far, Foursquare and Skype are the popoular apps available on the OVI store that I find useful for me. It could have been great for Nokia to open up its doors to the open source market just like what Samsung, Sony Ericsson, and HTC did.

Smart Phone Share on Q3 of 2010

Image from Ganter

On Q3 of 2010 Symbian OS which Nokia uses has the largest market share in mobile platforms as shown on the graph. But most Apps are still made for the Iphone and Android which leads me to ask, will the latest transformation of the Symbian OS to open source spark the developers to start developing for them as well?

The N8 will be the first smartphone to use the new Symbian^3 OS, I hope that more website apps will be available. Let’s hope that us Nokia users will start to see the Mashable, Facebook, Gowalla, TripAdvisor and Etc. available the the OVI store. :)

Nokia did a pretty good job at the first official interactive unboxing of the N8 unit and I’m gonna say this, If this was available on the Android I’m gonna buy one.

There a quick survey right below the vid, you can answer that or leave a comment to discuss your point of view.
